CARLI LLOYD VIRTUALLY VISITS CSH INPATIENT HOSPITAL

OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST AND FIFA WORLD CUP CHAMPION CARLI LLOYD BROUGHT INSPIRATION AND CHEER TO CSH PATIENTS (AND BIG FANS) VIRTUALLY

On September 7th, two-time Olympic Gold Medalist, two-time FIFA Women's World Cup Champion, two-time FIFA Player of the Year and four-time Olympian, Carli Lloyd, had an inspiring virtual visit with patients at CSH in New Brunswick. Patients at our inpatient hospital are receiving rehabilitative treatment for a variety of complex medical conditions like brain and spinal cord injuries, chronic illnesses, and a full scope of developmental, behavioral and mental health concerns. The kids were big fans of Lloyd and thrilled about the opportunity to have one-on-one time with the soccer star and ask questions about her life and career.

Lloyd's advice to the kids was truly inspiring. When 15-year-old Vivian asked Lloyd about any set-backs that she has had, Lloyd spoke about her past sports injuries and told her, "when you feel like you take a couple of steps forward and then a couple of steps back, try to live in the moment. Be patient. Take in the care that you're receiving and stay as positive as you can."

"We are so grateful that our patients had the opportunity to meet with such an accomplished athlete," said Philip Salerno III, President and Chief Development Officer at CSH Foundation. "Carli's positive attitude and presence brought so much joy to our patients and their families today."
