Additional Fundraising Tips:

1. Make a plan!  Make sure to stay organized with reminders, follow-ups, and thank yous to those donating.  Staying organized with a plan is key to reminding people about the fundraising goal, how much is raised so far, and the deadline to donate. Timely reminders require organization and planning, which can be sent out through social media or email!

2. Form a list: Put together a list of friends, family, co-workers, workout buddies, etc.  Think creatively!  Do you have neighbors, doctors, sports club members, etc. that might support you?  It doesn’t hurt to ask, so build the biggest list you can!

3. Update your Fundraiser Regularly: The frequency with which you update your page directly ties to your fundraising success.  Try posting text, photos, or video updates once a week.  This will keep your fundraiser fresh, grab attention, and invite compassion.

4. Get people engaged and passionate about their donation!  Inform people about the mission of Children’s Specialized Hospital to get your fundraisers more engaged and connected to their donation.  Our mission is listed below.  Feel free to share the mission on social media or wherever you are advertising your fundraising goal.

Our mission is: Children’s Specialized Hospital is the nation’s leading provider of inpatient and outpatient care for children from birth to 21 years of age facing special health challenges — from chronic illnesses and complex physical disabilities like brain and spinal cord injuries, to developmental and behavioral issues like autism and mental health. At 15 different New Jersey locations, our pediatric specialists partner with families to make our many innovative therapies and medical treatments more personalized and effective...so children can achieve more of their goals.

5.  Create Urgency With a Deadline: Continuously remind followers that they only have X hours or days left to contribute and that should boost results. Doing this will put the onus on people to donate as soon as they can and it will help you reach your goal at a faster rate.

6.  Get Face to Face: When you’re fundraising, make it a point to ask the friends and family you see on a regular basis to support you by donating.  Dinner parties, soccer games, family reunions, etc.  They are all great opportunities to make in person asks.

7.  Follow up: If someone has indicated that they want to donate, but hasn’t, don’t hesitate to follow-up with a phone call or reminder email. Especially as the time you have to fundraise for the event runs down. People respond to deadlines!

8.  Send thank you notes: It’s a simple thing to do, but also one of the most powerful.  Make sure to say thank you to everyone who supported you.  Send emails, write personal notes, and thank people in person. Do it every opportunity you get.

9.  Remember your inspiration: There is a reason why you are supporting this cause. Make sure to remember that and bring that same energy to your fundraising efforts.

10. Remember to HAVE FUN!! The Jingle Bell Dash 5K is a FUN way to spend time with family and friends, while raising money for a great cause!

Thank you and Happy Fundraising!
