LONG-TIME CSH VOLUNTEER BRINGS HOLIDAY JOY TO LONG TERM CARE PATIENTS

December 2020

We are so grateful for the fun and creativity that devoted volunteer, Fran Boccella, brings to the kids in CSH’s Long Term Care (LTC) in Mountainside. Each year, Fran hosts a holiday party for the kids, and while circumstances do not allow for an in-person party this year, with a little creativity, Fran kept the tradition alive!

This year, Fran delivered a cardboard cutout of “Mrs. Claus” for the kids to enjoy while watching a video of “Mrs. Claus” reading “The Night Before Christmas”. She says, “I wanted to bring joy to the kids I miss and love this holiday season...and with a little creativity, the annual tradition continues!”

Fran’s dedication to the kids in LTC even inspired her to write a children’s book inspired by them, called “A Magical Day at the Beach”. The touching story is related to the annual “Beach Party” Fran holds for the kids in LTC, who are unable to take a summer trip to the beach. All proceeds from her book sales help the very kids who inspired her book in LTC Mountainside. A great holiday gift with an important message to always be kind, books can be purchased for a suggested donation of $25.

Thank you, Fran, for always keeping the kids at CSH at heart and for constantly going out of your way to spread joy when needed most.
