RENOVATIONS BEGIN AT CSH MOUNTAINSIDE
CEREMONIAL WALL-BREAKING TO KICK OFF THE RENOVATIONS TO THE HISTORIC CHILDREN'S SPECIALIZED HOSPITAL IN MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ
While we celebrate the many miracles that have happened at this facility in our 130 year history, it is time to once again renovate this historic site to meet the most urgent needs of children. In 1988, the Pediatric Long Term Care Unit at Mountainside, caring then for 25 children with complex medical needs, became New Jersey's first hospital-based pediatric skilled care facility. When these renovations are complete, we will have room to house 60 children in need of long term, compassionate care—children whose medical needs are beyond care that can be given at home. Advances in medical technology are affording children with complex medical conditions a much more active life and, in line with our vision of a world where all children can reach their full potential, we must renovate their "home" so that while in our care they have everything they need for a happy, fulfilled, and loving childhood.
